Sharpie Creations: My Drawings Done In Sharpie
76These are a few of my drawings that I have done in Sharpie... I will add more here and then. Sharpies are challenging to work with and I was amazed of some of the work I had seen people do with them... and so started my Sharpie Creations...
Ruffles: Star Traveler
A Star Gazer
Ruffles is a character I created a little while back but finally got around to drawing not to long ago, she is a space traveler, energy form. Her home is the Universe it's self... she lives as a star.
Ruffles comes to earth exploring our planet and the human race looking for something her species lacks.... emotions. While the star gazers (Ruffle's race) have souls, unlimited power and the galaxy to explore the one thing the Start Gazers lack is the emotions they have seen on so many other planets in so many other races. Ruffles is a high energy, lovely, loving girl... well, she would be if she had the emotion to be so, knowing there is something more to life then what her species lives she takes it on to herself to find out what it is and how to get it.
Ruffles was drawn without a mouth symbolizing the fact she feels no emotions, this is an early concept of her as well. Her eyes where drawn with in mind the glimmers of stars, I was trying to portray that through her eyes.
From The heART
Anju...
This is my character Anju, Anju means from the heart, but I'm not sure where from, it was an Indian name.. but I cannot tell you more then that.
Anju was created on a whim, no plans for her as of yet... but who knows!
Anju is a fun loving, creative, dreamer and the explorer of her tribe... she enjoys a challenge and will always surprise you with her hidden talents. Her wanderings to find new things and places will often get her into more then she was looking for but she will always get it right in the end. I did color her, around here someplace... on the computer, because I did that digitally. Just to verify, she was hand drawn in Sharpie.
Katie
Katie: Another Character
Katie was inspired by my best friend, we where browsing around deviantART and saw a hair style we both really liked, she said that I should try it out... I had never really added defining lines to any character's hair before this point.
Being the first drawing I had done in this style I was extremely careful to get it right... I worked hard to get a clean, crisp feeling on this drawing... I hope that came out well! The lace is something I've been drawing for a while now, I really enjoy doing the detail that is required in lacing... now I am a bit more careful with the patience it takes to draw and the over usage of it.. because even something as pretty as lacing can get excessive... very easily in this case! :)
School Girl
Back To Tradition
This was done in a attempt to refer back to more traditional manga style, the school girl look is a classic. Of course I couldn't resist adding the ribbons, at this point most of my drawings have ribbons or lacing in them.
This was challenging to draw, especially the hair... as you can see. I had not intended for the hair to actually be finished.. I had meant for the hair to be cut off in a way instead of actually finishing the curls to give it a finished project look. Later on I decided I would rather finish the drawing and continued the lines from where I left off... explaining the ink blotching from the Sharpie pen.
This is another one of my favorites along with my Mom who really liked this drawing too. :)

Scarfs Are A Fashion Accessory
This drawings was a lot of fun to do at the time! I really enjoyed doing the hair... it was supposed to look bouncy and fun! The hair took a lot of time.. trying to get the lines to still look so clean while drawing them close together is hard because of how Sharpies bleed through the paper and spread into wider spaces then you had intended.
I love scarfs as a fashion accessory, and wear them a lot.. this drawing was inspired by my favorite scarf my mom got me, white with black and yellow flowers it's beautiful!
I just love scarfs.. done on a whim.
Hubchallenge Hub 4!
I like your penwork. your lines have a nice graceful flowing quality.
These are great! How long have you been drawing? Did you go to art school?
thats so cool, how do you do that with a thick sharpie?
aha! i thought they were done only with a big sharpie marker. Now that i know that you used i thinner tip I understand how you created those nice drawings.
wow i like what you have done! =]
you are really talented. i have been trying to do anime/manga. i love drawing.
keep up the good work! =D
