Easy Homemade Face Masks for Healthy Skin

Here we will teach you how to make a few different homemade face mask recipes. We will talk about 3 homemade face masks, you can try which ever one you would like.

You can use any one you are more comfortable with or have the ingredients to make. You could try all of them and see which one works best for you personally. Of course never use ingredients on your skin that you are allergic to and cannot each.

I have used these natural homemade face masks because my skin does not react well to any type of chemicals, not only do these not irritate my skin but they are also a lot more affordable than other store bought face masks. ;)

This girl, Bubbi, is where I got the face mask recipes from and they have worked very well for me and that made me want to share them with you, in the hopes they will help you too!

If you want to know a bit about why we are using the ingredients we are using in the facial mask watch the video because Bubbi will explain why each ingredient is good for your skin.

Homemade Oatmeal Face Mask

This easy homemade face mask is made from things you can probably find easily in your kitchen. The funny thing about this facial mask is that it sounds... yummy! You my even it for breakfast. Imagine that!

This mask will help hydrate your skin, even out your skin tone by reducing redness and also help treat pimples and other blemishes. If your skin is red or dry and flaky, try this face mask for a few nights.

For this homemade face mask you will need:

  • Oatmeal
  • Honey
  • Yogurt
  • Water

Okay, let's get started!

Take a couple of spoons of oatmeal and put it in a clean dry bowl. You are not going to cook it. Then start by adding in one spoonful of yogurt. In the video she mentions a specific type of yogurt but any plain and preferably natural yogurt will work. Mix the oatmeal and yogurt up and then add another spoonful of yogurt into the mask, after mixing add the final spoonful of yogurt, and mix.

Now add a teaspoon of honey and mix it into the face mask mixture. Finally add a teaspoon of water into the mixture. You want to make sure that the mask is completely mixed up into a smooth paste.

Now you may apply the mask and let sit on your skin for 15-20 minutes. You can watch the video below to see this entire process done.

Making The Homemade Oatmeal Face Mask

Homemade Yogurt Face Mask

This homemade face mask we will talk about here is a really simple mask that uses nothing more than wait for it... yogurt!

Yogurt is an amazing moisturizer, making this mask great for people with dry skin. It worked very well for my dry skin when I used it several nights ago.

You are supposed to use plain and preferably natural yogurt for the mask.

Starting with a clean face you can apply the yogurt mask to your skin. The mask will sit on your skin for 20-25 minutes. After you have let the homemade face mask sit for that time you will want to make sure you remove all the yogurt and wash your face well in warm water.

The video below will show you how to apply the homemade yogurt face mask. I think it is better shown than explained.

Banana Egg-white Oatmeal Facial Mask

This homemade face mask is especially great for dry skin. If your skin is dry on it's own or if it is only fry from harsh weather condition no worries. This mask with help rehydrate your dry skin.

You will need:

  • One Ripe Banana
  • 1 Egg-white
  • 1 Teaspoon of Honey
  • 3 Spoonfuls of Oatmeal

Start by peeling your banana and cutting it into sections, this will make the next step which is squishing it into a paste like consistency a lot easier!

Next you will add the egg white to the mixture. The mixture wil be quite watery and thin but don't worry we will fix that. Next add the honey. Mix this all together.

Next add the oatmeal, adding the oatmeal one spoonful at a time and mixing between each spoonful not only makes it easier to mix but also makes sure that you do not add too much to the facial mask mixture.

After mixing up you can apply to mask to your clean, dry face and let sit for 20 minutes! Once again watch the video below to see the mask done in video.

Will They Really Help My Skin?

I suppose you will have to try it out for yourself and see! But they did work for me.

I have had to deal with my skin always breaking out for quite a while. Blemishes and red blotches etc etc, and I really hated it.It made me feel insecure, like I didn't want to leave my house. Or even come out of my bedroom. These homemade face masks have really helped my skin stay healthier and clearer.

Below this is two pictures of me.. who cares right? You don't have to care but I want to show you my before and after picture as evidence that these face masks really can work for you. Before and after I started using these homemade face masks.

I'm a little embarrassed to put up an untouched picture of myself before I started using these masks but since we all know pictures are worth a thousand words, I want you to see that they really did work for me, I'm not just saying it.

The second picture is about a week after using the homemade face mask recipe. I still have a few blemishes but those healed and went away after a few more days. I have found that you will want to rotate what face mask you are using every couple weeks, your skin can actually get used to the mask and become "immune" to its affects, so cycle between a couple different face masks.

How Much Using The Face Masks Helped My Skin

My before and after picture. In the first photo I am not wearing makeup. Having clearer skin has really helped me start feeling better about myself... I don't want to hide in my house anymore. It feels great!

Tips For Clearer Skin

The difference the face masks have made in my skin is simply amazing! I hope that these homemade face masks will help you as much as they helped me. Here are a few more tips for clear skin that I have learned that could help you out.

  • Always wash your face in the evening even if you were not wearing any makeup to wash off. Your skin does the most healing and regenerating around 10pm.. wash your face before this time to help your skin the most.
  • Staying hydrated will always help your skin stay healthier and therefor more clear.
  • Getting an appropriate amount of sleep, about 8 hours also gives your skin the time it needs to heal.
  • Changing your pillowcase weekly will make sure there isn't an oily, germy build up rubbing against your face every night. As you can imagine that is not very good for your skin. Make sure to clean your cell phone often as well!
  • If you pick at your skin, even at the blemishes, try to stop doing that as much as possible. Picking and pinching blemishes only makes the germs spread under the surface of the skin, infecting your face further.
  • If you need a quick face mask to use when out, just use oatmeal! Take a small bit of oatmeal in your hand, run it under warm water for several seconds and use it to exfoliate your skin. Run gently in circular motions. The cloudy water from the oatmeal is very good for your skin as well.
